One of the best things about moving to a new city is coming across some real gems, these can be bars, restuarants, cultural institutions or just simply amazing shopping destinations such as the GPO which is situated on the corner of Bourke and Elisabeth Street, smack bang in the middle of the city.
The GPO is one of the top shopping destinations within the city housing the likes of Australian labels Willow, Lisa Ho, Acne, Rhodes & Beckett, Karen Millen and Ben Sherman to name but a few.
Unlike many traditional shopping destinations - the team behind the GPO have created a magazine style journal rather than the usual brochure full of badly lit photography and weekly deals being plugged. POST.ED. is both visually stunning and thoroughly engaging and this is thanks to the direction of its editor Stevie Dance and the guys behind the GPO aren't short of a few nice things to say about her.
The journal has many purposes. It takes a behind the scenes look at the making of the images used within and gives an in depth look at those who are part of the image making process such as stylists, hairdressers, photographers. It also acts as a way of keeping in touch with the consumer and lists both current and upcoming events such as Cloth By RMIT, an exhibition presented by the fashion program from The School of Architecture and Design at RMIT Universtiy.
Focusing on the labels housed within the GPO specifically, the editorial spreads for the first volume are focused on the glamour of high summer and feature various photoshots, Stevies picks for the season and in her words here is what high summer style is all about, "think clean lines, a nod to the body con sensibility, a tonal colour palette and a slick of sunscreen"
"Fast becoming a globally recognised styling visionary and emerging style icon, Stevie , since returning to New York to live full time and relinquish her role at RUSSH, continues to collaborate with the highest profile names and faces in fashion today. Tommy Ton, Jessica Stam, Karlie Kloss, Will Davidson, Garance Dore and Abbey Lee Kershaw to name but a few. We love her effortless style and how she has the knack to just, basically make things look good"
