BAUER Media's high-fashion glossy Harper's Bazaar will mark its 15th anniversary next week by releasing 15 different covers for its March issue created by 15 fashion identities. Designers and brands including Giorgio Armani, Victoria Beckham, Collette Dinnigan, Christian Louboutin, Stella McCartney, Romance Was Born, Sass & Bide and Diane von Furstenberg and created original artwork for the special collector's issue.
"Harpers Bazaar is famed for its covers, so when I started planning our anniversary issue last year I knew I wanted to create something memorable,'' editor Kellie Hush said in a statement.
"The brief was simple: share your creativity and latest inspirations. When the art work started arriving just before Christmas -- Mr Armani's -- was the first I was overwhelmed with the results.''
According to Bauer, Harper's Bazaar is the oldest continuously-published fashion magazine in the world, first published in the US in 1867
The title launched in Australia in 1998 with Nicole Kidman on its first cover. The actor has gone on to appear on nine of its covers and features in a special retrospective in the anniversary edition, with fellow Aussie celebrities Kylie Minogue, Miranda Kerr, Elle Macpherson, Naomi Watts and Cate Blanchett. All outlets that sell the magazine will have a mixture of covers on display from Monday, with some receiving the entire line-up of 15 looks.
