This is very exciting news as I am a huge huge fan of Marigay McKee and her career to date. McKee, chief merchant at Harrods, is leaving Harrods to take up the position of president at US luxury retailer Saks Fifth Avenue.
Her appointment is part of a huge overhaul in the wake of a $2.4 billion acquisition of the department store by Canadian retailer Hudson's Bay Co. WWD report that McKee will begin her new job in mid-December, giving her time to relocate her family to New York, where the Saks headquarters are situated.
McKee began working at Harrods 14 years ago, working her way up to became fashion and beauty director to chief merchant, the position to which she was promoted to in 2011.
"It's with great sadness that I resign today as chief merchant of Harrods Ltd," McKee told Vogue . "It's been my absolute pleasure to spend the last 14 years of my life working at the world's most luxurious department store. I take with me the satisfaction of knowing that I leave behind a great merchant team destined for huge success."
Good Luck Marigay and I look forward to seeing you arrive at Saks.
