I am lying on the floor of my apartment this afternoon with the worst back pain. I can't remember having anything like it before and the only position that feels comfortable (or bearable) is lying on the floor. Anyhow, this momentary lapse in bodily function has given me the opportunity to finally view the Victoria Beckham Autumn/Winter 2014 collection in its entirety and wow what a show. It was a huge improvement on her last, which for me veered way too far down the masculine route. This time around she elongated the silhouette first and foremost however the usual suspects that one expects from a Victoria Beckham show were missing from the show but are part of the buying collection. Adding some feminine touches to what was, all in all, a sharply tailored collection, the categories are expanding with the introduction of knitwear and outerwear. A chunky gold chain replaces a button closure on a lot of the pieces including a superb winter white cashmere coat, the back of which was sharply pleated in a lighter-weight silk, while deep organza ruffles, decorating the hem of a tunic sweatshirt kept the flow from last season to this. All in all a fantastic collection and another reason for the doubters to step down. Check out some of the collection below as well as the official footage of the show.
